Standards VDI 2700 8.1 and 8.2
The new German standards VDI 2700 8.1 and 8.2 for load securing on car carriers has been published in September 2024. They are applicable to all car carriers operating in Germany or transiting territory of Germany. It is an important regulation to ensure safe traffic on the roads and imposes high requirements on cargo securing. Proper cargo securing is the primary measure to avoid road hazards and ensure the safety and quality of transportation.
To provide you with a certificate of compliance with VDI 2700 8.1 for your car carriers follow the next steps:
- Apply. Please send us the request to the email vdi@rimo.lt.
You will receive back the excel table to fill in the necessary information about your fleet, you want apply certificates for. - Send the table. Send the excel table back to vdi@rimo.lt.
You will get information about necessary inspection actions and requirements to car carriers’ conformity of new standard. You will get the authorized VDI 2700 checks Rimo services list. - Audit. For car carriers produced 2012-2023 register to the authorized VDI 2700 checks Rimo service for audit.
Car carrier operator pays audit and necessary service or load lashing equipment renewal expenses directly to the service. - Pay. After reception of the positive audit report, we will issue the invoice for certificate.
A certificate of conformity to VDI 2700 8.1 standard will be issued after the payment reception and as soon as possible taking into notice that it requires some administration.
To keep certificate active there will be mandatory yearly audit of authorized Rimo service or other confirmed control institution.

- Car carrier produced 2012-2023* - 350 € (excl. VAT)
*Some models produced on 2012-2013 will not get certificates. - Car carrier produced since 2024 - 250 € (excl. VAT)
